My biggest bug bear was shoes on ductwork branches very few of the add- ons had them and those that did would not have the correct sizes of lead ins (for UK at least) and there appeared no way to change them. In this database (blog) you can find small tips, hints and tricks which - as we hope - help you to use Autodesk and HP products more efficiently. If the other company is working with MagiCAD for Revit, then you could ask for a Revit model instead of the IFC model. Even if the IFC file is working properly - as you witnessed in Solibri - for some reason Revit isn't able to import it correctly.

The big issue here isn't the export from MagiCAD, but the import to Revit. This is a wasted opportunity, I am looking to get away from Autodesk but no one has risen to the challenge it looks like I will have to hand over my money (ransom) to Autodesk once more after all. Cadduct (now Fabrication) has been around more than 20 years and is better than any of these in my opinion. I can't believe no one has been able to sort this. Many of these add-ons don't have the correct fittings or are inflexible to allow editing of said parts, some pretend to be 3D but it seems as if you have to generate the 3d seperately rather than work in it, others have no autorouting or use incorrect fittings.

If I try to define a system it says 'All elements could not be assigned to the system".I have been through a lot of the addons and can't believe how poor they are (especially ductwork) and pretty clunky to work with, we need something in line with Autocad Fabrication regarding real world fittings and flexibility for manufacture combined with the auto routing of Autocad MEP and sections of Revit. I've also tried to do the same with domestic cold and hot water. Hello Espen, You have already logged a service request on this issue and sent the PCF file for review. I need to define new supply and return systems - how do I do that? I've tried to simply import a pipe family, draw a supply and return pipe and then connect the radiator to them but the radiator cant find the pipes (I can only choose the default supply/return systems and the supply system is 4 degrees C and the return is 10 degrees C which gives an error message). I'm trying to connect a radiator to a very simple supply/return but have failed. I'm working in Revit 2015 and MagiCAD 2015. It's very fun but I'm trying to learn it without guidance and there is limited material out there.
